Concern Worldwide is an international humanitarian organization with its headquarters in Dublin and is dedicated to the elimination of extreme poverty. Currently, Concern is looking for a suitable candidate for the following position:
Technical Officer -Livelihood (Post-01); Based in  Rajshahi
The Technical Officer -Livelihood is responsible for ensuring implementation of livestock activities with assigned implementing partner(s) within the Char Integrated Programme (CIP) which impacts the lives of the people in Char Programme and results in lasting positive changes.
Major areas of responsibility:
  • Ensure that the Char Integrated Programme (CIP) activities are implemented and executed jointly with the partners and delivered timely to ensure sustainability of the technical interventions to completion.
  • Arrange necessary resources for the project and utilise them efficiently for implementation of livelihood activities in line with the budgets and value for money is ensured within the CIP
  • Supporting the partners in collecting regular monitoring information related with the project, documenting, analysing the information and drawing possible conclusions and disseminating action research findings
  • Provide high quality and effective support to staff of the project/beneficiaries and implementing partner NGOs in agriculture, poultry, dairy and other livelihood related issues based on identified needs. e.g. arrange Farmers Field Day, Workshop, Training, Exposure Visit, Feedback and reflection session etc.
  • In consultation with community and producers’ groups, implementing partner organizations, JOBS, developing technical training modules, curriculums, organize trainings and refreshers to partner staff and follow-up of training impact.
  • Support in developing and facilitating community led trials and demonstration on breed selection, poultry and livestock rearing monitor progress with farmers in PNGO field.
Key Requirements:
  • Masters in Social Sciences, Livestock / Veterinary Science/ Agricultural related discipline from a reputed university.
  • At least 05 years progressively responsible work experience in the area of participatory programme planning, management, monitoring, and capacity building within a development organisation/NGO.
  • Understanding on capacity assessment and capacity building; skills developing training modules; facilitation and training delivery, training follow-up and impact assessment.
  • Sound knowledge and good understanding on the technical resources/organisations and accessing of such resources available in country.
  • Experience is development and management of participatory ideas and innovation for test out and further extension in the project areas and outside.
  • Experience and ability to work and manage consultants, technical agencies and contracts.
  • Experience in documentation and presentation, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of working with government research and extension institutions, local government institutions and departments.
